A top location for a very special city hotel
One of the top places is occupied by the 4* Superior Hotel Einstein in the heart of St. Gallen.
Only a stone's throw away from the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in the "Stiftsbezirk", on the edge of the pedestrian zone, stands the classicist building built in 1830 from the heyday of the textile industry. Where in former times noble laces were produced, today the first hotel stands on the site.

Precious rooms for moments of well-being
Parquet floors made of fine cherry wood and other natural materials, as well as the finest St. Gallen bed linen ensure moments of well-being in the rooms. A lot of wood and discreet colours give the rooms an elegant lightness. Comfortable box spring beds help to create a particularly restful sleeping experience. The bright rooms with granite and marble bathrooms leave nothing to be desired.

A house with charm
The textile history of the house is reflected in the tasteful art objects that can be found throughout the house. The Hotel Einstein is a house with charm, in which the flair of past times is skillfully combined with modernity.
Culinary delights in the Bistro St. Gallen
The Bistro St. Gallen takes care of the physical well-being of its guests. Spoiled palates get their money's worth with the culinary delights. They are also a real eye catcher visually.

Special precautions for the safety of guests
We find it particularly worth mentioning that the Hotel Einstein has developed a concept that takes the current situation into account. This includes not only the self-evident cleaning but also an additional disinfection. Moreover, the rooms are only reoccupied every second day and in between, they are thoroughly aired.
Our tips for St. Gallen and surroundings
St. Gallen is a very charming and cosy city. We'll tell you what you shouldn't miss when you visit.
In book heaven
One of the most beautiful libraries in the world is located in a rather inconspicuous building of the St. Gallen Monastery. The abbey library is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage. The magnificent rococo-baroque hall, which is filled to the roof with 170,000 valuable books and 2,100 manuscripts, not only makes the hearts of bookworms beat faster. Also a view into the cathedral should not be missed.

Flower dreams in the textile museum
Walk in the footsteps of St. Gallen's textile history, which once brought the city its international reputation and considerable prosperity, in the St. Gallen Textile Museum. Even today, the fine lace fabrics from St. Gallen are still sought after at home and abroad. Celebrities such as Pippa Middleton, Cameron Diaz and Michelle Obama like to show themselves in dresses made of fine St. Gallen lace.

Oriels that tell stories
During the heyday of the St. Gallen textile industry, rich textile merchants outbid each other in showing off their wealth. This is expressed in the 111 elaborately carved oriels from the 18th and 19th centuries that adorn the townscape. They tell of foreign countries, exotic fruits and animals. If you look closely, you can discover a grimace on one of the oriels, which mischievously sticks out the tongue of its supposedly less wealthy neighbour.

Out into the countryside
If you don't want to get into the car or the train to go to nearby Lake Constance or Appenzellerland, you'll find all the nature you need right at the gates of the city. On foot or with the funicular it goes up to the local recreation area Drei Weieren. In the 17th century, the artificially created ponds were used to supply water for the textile bleaching industry and for the town's fire brigade. Today you can skate here in winter and swim in summer. The ponds with their historic Art Nouveau buildings are among the most beautiful natural swimming pools in Switzerland. In addition, on a clear day you have a fantastic view over the historic old town to Lake Constance.

Culinary delights
Beaver, beer and bratwurst - form the triumvirate of culinary temptations in St. Gallen.
We recommend:
A fine beaver with the St. Gallen bear, the heraldic animal of the city, from the Confiserie Roggwiler.
A bratwurst with Bürli - please do not use mustard, the people of St. Gallen can't take a joke from the butcher's shop Schmid or the butcher's shop Bechinger.
A cold beer in the micro-brewery Brauwerk, a branch of the local brewery Schützengarten.
